Clothing for off-bike

When you're not riding, you'll want comfortable and versatile clothing. Focus on lightweight, quick-drying items that can be mixed and matched, and go for layers rather than quantity of options.

  • Casual T-shirts/Shirts: A fresh T shirt each day helps you feel at your best for the ride ahead. Lightweight, quick-drying options are great if you have to wash one in a pinch
  • Trousers/Shorts: A pair of light weight comfortable jeans, travel trousers, or shorts depending on the weather. If you wear denim/Kevlar jeans to ride in, you may get away with just bringing a pair of shorts or light trousers, or skirt for when you are off the bike.
  • Underwear and Socks: we tend to bring a pair each for each day plus an extra pair for each third day. You never know when you may want a fresh pair! Moisture-wicking options are great for hotter days, and underwear longer in the legs helps with comfort for a long day in the saddle.
  • Lightweight Jumper/Fleece: For cooler evenings or higher altitudes.
  • Swimwear: If your route includes coastal areas or hotels with pools.
  • Casual Shoes/Sandals: Lightweight and comfortable for walking around in an evening. Go for one pair that can be used in many situations, rather than multiple pairs, to keep your luggage weight down.
