Motorbike gear

Your riding gear is your primary protection and comfort on the road. Prioritise quality and appropriate gear for the European climate.

Here's what you'll need:

  1. Helmet: A full-face or modular helmet with good ventilation and a clear visor. Consider a Pinlock insert for fog prevention.
  2. Jacket and Trousers: Weather-resistant, abrasion-resistant textile or leather gear with CE-approved armour. Look for options with removable thermal liners for varying temperatures. We recommend at least AA protection, but higher is better.
  3. Gloves: two pairs are great to carry if you have the room: one for warm weather (perforated) and one for cooler/wet conditions (waterproof).
  4. Boots: Sturdy, waterproof motorcycle boots that provide ankle protection. If they're waterproof too, even better.
  5. Waterproof Over-suit/Rain Gear: Even if your gear is waterproof, an additional lightweight rain suit can offer extra protection in heavy downpours. You may think you look a little silly, but a rain suit tends to be the most protective. It can also help keep you warmer if the temperatures drop.
  6. Base Layers: Moisture-wicking base layers to help regulate body temperature, especially useful for long riding days. Merino wool is really good for light, thin layers that are warm and quick to dry.
