Personal essentials

Keep your toiletries minimal and travel-sized to save space and weight.

  • Toothbrush and Toothpaste
  • Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Soap/Body Wash - most hotels have these, but it's good to have a small amount in case you're not into the smell. It happens.
  • Deodorant
  • Sunscreen: Essential for exposed skin, even on cloudy days. As riders you might think we're fully covered up, but your neck and face do tend to be exposed for the day, and you'll be spending time off the bike and walking around, too.
  • Insect Repellent: Not always essential, but we always recommend a small spray bottle.
  • Prescription Medications: With original packaging and a copy of the prescription.
  • Basic First-Aid Kit: Fervour Guides will always carry a first aid kit, but it's good to have your own too. Look for a 'mini' kit that you can put under a bike seat, or even in a large pocket.
  • Small Towel: Quick-drying microfiber towels are ideal although hotels will have these provided.
  • Chafe Cream: There are many different brands out there, but they can be a life saver after many hot hours on the bike, particularly towards the end of the trip. Look for 'wound protection' cream, or even something for baby's bottoms!
